Puppy Whelping Kit

The Puppy Whelping Kit is a collection of items you may need when your bitch is whelping. We carefully selected the items based on our experience in dog breeding and whelping. The kit is put together for whelping and handling of stuck puppy. It comprises:

1. 1 x Reusable Kidney dish – keeping all instruments together and to hand and/or putting placenta’s in after each puppy/Kitten
2. 1 x Disposable Kidney dish – keeping all instruments together and to hand and/or putting placenta’s in after each puppy/Kitten or useful to use to clean down mum afterwards then throw away!
3. 1 x Sterile Stainless Steel Scissors (Blunt/Blunt for safety) – Cutting cord should you need to
4. 10 x Sterile Alcohol Wipes – Clean instruments in-between use.
5. 2 x Sterile Stainless Steel forceps – Clamping of the cord before cutting should it be required. We find these useful if our girl has a retained placenta but puppy has been born with cord attached to placenta so we clamp close to mum so we can cut the cord and to stop placenta going further inside.
6. 230ml Sterile Lubricating Jelly Tube – Help loosen the puppy/kitten when delivering and to also place on the thermometer during temp checks.
7. 1 x Medical grade Digital Thermometer and plastic case to keep clean – Record temperature on the PDF chart that is included.
8. 5 x Reusable Cord Clamps these are our new XXS clamps – Pinch off umbilical cords in an emergency. Not to be kept on puppies and kittens.
9. 1 x Sterile Bulb aspirator – Suck out fluid from puppy/kittens nose and throat.
10. 1 x DeLee Suction Catheter-Suck out fluid from puppy/kittens nose and throat.
11. 1 x Puppy Tube Feeding Kit- Tube feeding kit is literally a lifesaver when a puppy cannot nurse on its own owing to weakness or cleft palate.
12. 1 x Puppy Feeding Bottle set- To supplement puppies that cannot suck or compete to suck mother’s milk.
13. 1 x Dual-headed Stethoscope for monitoring mother’s heartbeat and for listening to baby heartbeats during the last week or two prior to birth. It is also used to detect lung congestion in puppies and mothers.

It comes with free whelping advice and how to perform CPR on newborn puppies. This should be an integral part of your dog breeding and whelping collection.
