Nursing Sponge Wedge Feeding Kit

We dog breeders do occasionally have puppies that are not feeding properly owing to dam’s low milk production or  littermates  pushing the weaker ones away from the breasts, resulting in poor feeding. The nursing sponges are therefore in handy for puppies that cannot nurse from the mother or bottle for whatever reason. Sometimes, to avoid aspiration, bottle feeding may not be appropriate. The wedges are designed to simulate the sucking action for the puppies as if they are being nursed by the mother.This strengthens their natural sucking action.

This kit is also good because the puppy can take just the amount of milk it requires. When it is filled, it will stop sucking. Hence, overfeeding is ruled out. It causes no aspiration of milk like bottle feeding method. The Sponges are made from unique latex-free material which makes them non-poisonous to the puppies. It will not crumble or flake.

Our feeding syringes are perfectly suited for feeding small animals. The syringe are well lubricated on the inside. When it is reused, the coating gets washed away causing the syringe to jam. The syringes in this kit  have a different design.  They will not last forever, but they will not jam and then release suddenly, risking your precious newborn aspirating milk or other liquids.

Wash with mild soap and water, and allow them to air dry after usage for future use. When the sponges are wet the wedges will expand but will return to original size when dry.

All sterile items are packaged as single use items only. Many breeders, inclusive of ourself, will often reuse the items for more than one litter. We just have to re-sterilize all instruments before each litter. This is suffice to say that the kit is reusable after proper cleaning and sterilization.
